That just confirms the saying that people may forget what you did or what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel. Beyond the incredible tour, Sal also captured amazing photos that will forever be part of our family's memory bank. We are so grateful for the experience and highly recommend him to anyone looking to make their Switzerland trip truly special. - 05/06/26

My wife, my sister and I wanted to see Switzerland and to take 5 days to do it with a private tour guide. We'd done the same for Ireland, Scotland, Portugal and Italy, and we knew what we were looking for in a tour company. We could not have done better than with Sal. From the start of planning throughout the entire trip, he was top notch -- accurately picking up on the things we'd be interested in (and not), treating us to the spectacular views and experiences of Switzerland yet largely avoiding the tourist crowds, even including special sites across the French and German borders. Sal said he wanted to treat us as if we were his own family, and as other reviewers have said, we really felt that way. We just had to take him and his wife to dinner for our last night and of course he found the right place -- sitting outside overlooking the City of Zurich. We expect to stay in touch with him for possible future trips, including one my sister is planning for within the next year. - 31/05/26

We wanted to see Switzerland from the point of view of a local and that we did - from panoramic scenic landscapes to historical places towns you don’t see on social media, to neighborhood hangouts for incredible Asian food and more.
We saw, we ate and Sal made sure we had ample time to just sit, relax and take it all in, while he took our pictures to capture the precious moments to take home.
A mere few days with Sal felt like more because the tears we both held when it was time to say goodbye was evidence enough how much he made us love Switzerland so, so much.
I can’t wait to work on all the VLOG content Sal even helped me film AND even direct 😂
We are already planning our return to explore even more! Until then.. thank you Sal for being our family away from home 🙏🏼💗 God bless you! - 28/05/26

A Journey of Beauty, Peace, and a New Friendship
We had a week-long stay in Switzerland, and five of those days were spent with Sal. To put it simply, the tour was nothing short of amazing. From the planning stages to the first day of meeting him, we got to know Sal as someone who is deeply passionate about what he does. He would probably say he is no one special, but I personally thought he was extraordinary.
Getting to know him was the icing on the cake. Hearing snippets of his personal story and how he ended up with the life he has now—I’d say it would fill a very interesting biography. Meeting him and having him show us the natural beauty of Switzerland allowed me to imagine what it would actually be like to live there.
I am not an outdoorsy person, but I found myself wrapped in all the beauty that God created. We saw everything from rolling slopes and fairytale villages to the breathtaking Trümmelbach Falls, where the water thunders right inside the mountain caves. Sal also made sure we captured photos that were truly Instagram-worthy, even giving us tips on how to take better shots ourselves.
What really set this trip apart were the thoughtful personal touches that made everything so seamless. Sal’s attention to detail is unmatched—whether it was anticipating our needs before we even spoke them or handling the little logistics that usually make travel stressful, he took care of it all so we could just be present. His expertise and flexibility were incredible. He could easily pivot our itinerary in an instant based on the temperamental weather, ensuring we never missed out, always keeping us ahead of the clouds. He was very accommodating and adjusted the itinerary to meet the physical needs of those in our group that we failed to mention before the trip. He took us to special places off the beaten tourist path, like the countryside "healing place" in Heiligkreuz, which was perfectly attuned to peace and reflection. These personal touches and the "inside stories" he shared are things you would never get from an ordinary tour.
To truly understand how great Sal is, you have to compare him to others. We finished our last day with a different tour company as Sal was already booked, and it simply didn't compare. That experience felt like someone just driving us around; was not fully knowledgeable of the area and made us feel hurried while going about our last day in Switzerland. All the warmth and subtle care Sal provided were completely absent.
Our last day with Sal was filled with sadness; we knowingly parted not as clients, but as family. We hope to return one day to see him again—not just to visit new places, but also to hang out and make memories with him.
The Memories We Made:
• Day 1: Witnessing the power of the Rhine Falls, a quick visit to Konstanz, Germany, and the spiritual Black Madonna at Einsiedeln.
• Day 2: Exploring Bernand the "Valley of 72 Waterfalls" in Lauterbrunnen to see the hidden mountain falls.
• Day 3: Lakeside beauty in Spiez and Geneva, and visiting Freddie Mercury’s memorial in Montreux.
• Day 4: A fairytale detour to Colmar and Eguisheim, France, and a stop at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich.
• Day 5: Panoramic views from Mt. Rigi, the history of Lucerne, and finding quiet peace in the countryside.
Thank you Sal from the bottom of my heart! Till we meet again.

My husband and i were part of the private Swiss tour not knowing what to expect. We found Sal timely, personable and knowledgeable in all aspects of our tour. He was very flexible, went above and beyond just to accommodate to all needs that our group required. His suggestions about weather conditions and appropriate attire we might need were spot on. Sal was passionate about making sure we were comfortable , safe and enjoying our entire trip. The 5 days we spent our time with Sal had exceeded our expectation. He shared the history, culture and legends of every mountain and villages. It could have ended with Sal but due to his unavailability we ended booking our last day with another private tour company. Our private tour was the highlight of our Switzerland trip. - 21/04/26

What an amazing journey that Sal coordinated for my husband and I and our two young boys. We took a carriage ride through Endelberg, went to the very top of Mt. Titles, walked through an ice glacier, tubed down a snow covered mountain, and saw beautiful Lucerne. My boys loved Sal, he is a natural with kids and he treats you like family. Time was not a concern for Sal and the boys were able to spend even more precious time in the snow. We cannot wait to return to Switzerland and have Sal show us even more special places. - 02/04/26

We had an amazing, memorable and hassle free three day experience with Sal.
Sal went above and beyond to create the sightseeing perfectly to our interest. He shared incredible knowledge about the places we visited and took us to beautiful hidden gems off the usual tourist paths. We appreciate Switzerland more.
We appreciate the personalized care, just like family, also acting as our personal photographer. We have so many beautiful photos to remember the trip.
His passion and expertise truly made the trip unforgettable.
We highly recommend Sal.
P.S. We truly appreciate the preview of the CLOY tour. Love it by itself but would still want to go on the full tour with Sal during spring. - 18/01/26

Amazing Winter Colmar & Eguisheim Tour My daughter and I had an amazing day with Sal yesterday. Driving into France from Zurich to the beautiful towns of Colmar and Eguisheim. Sal was extraordinarily generous with his time and information. We would never have visited both towns without Sals recommendation. Whilst both towns were very crowded (especially Colmar) we soaked up the beautiful old buildings, Christmas decorations and endless food stalls and crafts. We would not hesitate to receive Swiss Private Tours. - 07/12/25

Sal is a passionate and dedicated Swiss guide. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the area and its history, ensuring you have full understanding of the beautiful sights of Switzerland. It was a little rainy for the first part of the tour, so he went above and beyond to tailor the trip for the weather and he didn’t disappoint! We were able to catch some incredible sights, try local foods, and learn so much about the beautiful country. Book this private tour for an unforgettable experience. - 22/10/25

Thank you Sal for the amazing full day tour you provided to our group of four on October 2, 2025. It truly was 12 hours packed with amazing Swiss scenery and sites and your knowledge of your country was immense. We were glad we picked the Bernese Oberland tour and the ride to Murren and Birg was incredible. Once again thank you for being a true ambassabor for your country. Basil Andrew - 09/10/25

Sal was such a kind and thoughtful tour guide on our whirlwind one day drive through the Bernese Oberland area in early August of this year. He was knowledgeable about the area, a veritable weather wizard (we were always one step ahead of the rain on our tour day), and he included so many wonderful stops on our tour. The whole family had the best time. Thank you Sal! - 01/10/25

If you find Sal, you're in for the best tour and moments of your life! Easy communication, non-touristic hotspots, he made me feel like a local and that's exactly how I wanted to travel, however in a luxurious way and comfortable way. My entire family loved it as Sal took us to the best food spots for Raclette and Fondue and luxury watch shopping. His approach is different than what we usually see, definitely returning back for this!! <3 - 01/09/25

Amazing Vacation My wife and I spent 4 days with Sal. When he picked us up at the hotel the first thing he said was I will treat you like family, And did he ever. It takes about 10 minutes to figure out what a genuine man he is. He went out of his way to change our itinerary because of a rain storm. This allowed us to have the best views when we were in the mountains. His knowledge of the country is amazing and he shares it in a great conversational manner. My wife enjoys photography and Sal was able to not only direct her to the best places for pictures but also taught her how to better utilize her camera. We can't wait to book another trip with this kind gentleman. He will be a friend for life. - 25/08/25

This started with the booking and planning process in which Sal was prompt in his responses and his organization/communication on his recommendations really helped us create a plan that we were looking forward to.
Sal’s personable nature made us feel immediately at ease, and his ability to tailor each day to our interests showcased both his flexibility and his genuine care for our experience. His thoughtful preparation and experience of Switzerland was evident as we had unpredictable inclement weather and it never disrupted our plans. Sal always had excellent alternatives ready that allowed us to make the most of each day.
What really set this tour apart was the way Sal treated us not simply as customers, but as family. His knowledge, organization, and hospitality created an experience that was as meaningful as it was memorable. We not only learned a lot about Switzerland as a country but also Sal as a person.
We wholeheartedly recommend anyone wishing to explore Switzerland to consider booking a multi-day tour with Sal! - 18/08/25

If you're reading this you are probably looking for a private guide in Switzerland. I could probably repeat all the positive things that have been said in previous reviews. Sal, the owner of the company, is not only a great guide but a super person. Liechtenstein was a country that we had never visited so we contracted with Sal to take us on a one day excursion there from Zurich. We got more than our money's worth as we saw many interesting things along the way, including one of the most beautiful churches in the world, and a basic tour of Zurich itself. You cannot go wrong booking your tours with Swiss Private Tour. Be sure to book well in advance as he is very popular and his schedule fills quickly. - 19/07/25

This tour was the highlight of my trip to Switzerland this past March! I am so grateful for Sal and his unending kindness. How lucky are us CLOY fans that some of the most beautiful places in the world were featured in our favorite show?
After a rough travel day arriving to Zurich, Sal really made me feel taken care of. Conversation flowed naturally, as he is also a fan of the show, and he was sure to make sure that I had three square meals that day. I booked this tour for the first real day of my Switzerland trip and I’m so glad I did! It gave me a chance to revisit places from this tour and get recommendations from Sal about other sites to see and places to eat. This was especially helpful since, while we visited every location you could every dream of, there were certain spots that were so peaceful and lovely that I definitely wanted more time there.
We started with a gorgeous early morning view of Lucerne before heading to Lake Lugano, where the epilogue of the series takes place. In seeing the idyllic view from Yoon Se-ri and Ri Jeong-hyeok’s home, I was taken aback by the beauty of Switzerland. It is a perfect first stop for it’s view of the lake and mountains, drinking fountain, and general Swiss feel. For being early March, the Landing Stage was a little busy! There was a line for photos that only got longer when the ferry arrived, so picture taking was quick but Sal handled it with expert precision. It looks just as picturesque it did in the show, so I recommend going back on a weekday to fully embrace the serenity of the scene. I was grateful that Sal saw how much I loved being there and guided me over to another gorgeous area where the opening credits were filmed and you have a view of a castle. But the real highlight for me was Grindelwald First. It was a beyond thrilling experience to go from grassy spring to a snow-filled mountain top and do the Cliff Walk. Funnily enough, with all the CLOY sites I saw, THIS is what I always tell people about! I’m so glad Sal included this in our day trip and made it our lunch stop so we could enjoy the mountain views. We ended the day with Sigriswil right around sunset and I could not ask for a better finale to my incredible trip. Sal really knows how to deliver memory-making moments!
I get so nervous getting my picture taken, especially at important locations like these, but Sal’s naturally kind and caring nature made me feel at ease. And since I was travelling solo, I wanted to make sure I was with someone that could capture those moments beautifully, like Sal did. Even the photos that ended up darker from the harsher sunlight turned out to be stunning with his edits. My only regrets are that the tour couldn’t have lasted longer and that I wasn’t able to sign up for his Zurich tour! If I’m ever lucky enough to go back to Switzerland, I know he will be the first person I reach out to to show me around ???? - 28/05/25

Our experience with Swiss Private Tour was truly unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to our incredible guide, Sal. From the very beginning, Sal made us feel welcomed and at ease, combining professionalism with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a Switzerland tour guided by the incredible Uncle Sal, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. Uncle Sal's generosity, deep knowledge, and impeccable organization transformed the trip into something truly special. What made the tour even more remarkable was how much the kids enjoyed it. They not only had fun exploring the breathtaking sights but also gained valuable knowledge throughout the journey. Uncle Sal's ability to engage with travelers of all ages and share his rich understanding of local culture and history truly set this tour apart. The tour was executed flawlessly, thanks to his meticulous planning and dedication. For anyone considering a guided tour, I wholeheartedly encourage you to choose Uncle Sal—you’ll not only see the beauty of Switzerland but also create memories that delight and educate every member of the family! - 07/04/25

Title: Exceptional Tour Guide - A Memorable Swiss Adventure!
I recently had the privilege of exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Switzerland with an extraordinary tour guide, Sal. From the moment we began our journey, it was clear that Sal was dedicated to providing an unforgettable experience.
Sal's extensive knowledge of Switzerland's history, culture, and geography was impressive. Some journeys leave an imprint on your heart, and our three days with Sal of Swiss Private Tours was one of those experiences. From the very beginning, we knew we were in the hands of someone who didn’t just know Switzerland – he lived and breathed it, weaving its history, culture, and breathtaking beauty into every moment. What we expected to be just a tour became something much deeper: a connection with the soul of Switzerland.
Day 1: From the Thunder of the Falls to the Stillness of Zurich
Our first day began at the thundering Rhine Falls, where nature's sheer power engulfed our senses. Standing there, watching the mighty waters crash down, Sal led us to the perfect vantage point. He didn’t just show us the falls – he made sure we felt them. Then, we stepped into the tranquil, almost dreamlike town of Stein Am Rhein, a place that seemed frozen in time, with its frescoed houses telling tales of centuries past. Sal had an instinct for finding beauty in every corner.
Lunch at Raffles Singapore was an unexpected oasis – an elegant contrast to the wild beauty of the morning. In Zurich, we explored the timeless streets of the old city, where Sal’s knowledge of Zurich’s landmarks – Zurich University, Bahnhofstrasse, Fraumünster, and Grossmünster – brought each place alive. He showed us not just where to go, but how to experience the heartbeat of the city. Every photo we took, every moment we lived, felt perfectly curated by him.
Day 2: Mountains That Touch the Sky and Towns That Hold Your Heart
On the second day, Switzerland opened her arms even wider. In Lucerne, we wandered the ancient paths of the Chapel Bridge, stood in awe before the Jesuit Church, and climbed to the Clock Tower, each step bathed in the glow of Sal’s deep storytelling. But it was when we reached the peak of Rigi Kulm that the world seemed to expand in a way words can’t fully capture. Standing there, with the Alps stretching endlessly into the sky, Sal guided us to the moments that would etch themselves forever in our memories.
The mystical allure of Mythen, the shimmering waters of Brunnen, and the untouched beauty of Schwyz filled the day with wonder. And then, as if the heavens were blessing our journey, we chased rainbows through the Swiss countryside. It was an experience that felt like pure magic – something you couldn’t plan, but Sal somehow made happen. Our day ended with a visit to the sacred sanctuary of Einsiedeln, where the Black Madonna watched over us in her quiet grace, leaving a sense of peace and reverence.
Day 3: In the Heart of Nature, Where Every Corner Takes Your Breath Away
Our final day took us deeper into the heart of Bernese Oberland, where Switzerland’s raw beauty unfolded before our eyes. The roaring Giessbach Waterfalls, pouring into the turquoise expanse of Lake Brienz, stirred something primal within us. At the CLOY Jetty in Iseltwald, time seemed to stand still as we soaked in the serenity of the lake, lost in the quiet majesty of the moment. Sal had a way of showing us not just where to look, but how to see.
A pause at Hotel Krebs in Interlaken filled us with warmth before we pressed on to the jaw-dropping beauty of Grindelwald and the storybook valleys of Lauterbrunnen. It was here, amidst the towering cliffs and tumbling waterfalls, that we felt we had truly touched the heart of Switzerland. The ancient mystery of the St. Beatus Caves and the breathtaking heights of the CLOY Bridge in Sigriswil brought us to the edge of wonder, and then Sal, as if closing the final chapter of a beautiful story, led us to Bern, Switzerland’s dignified capital. Walking through its stately streets, we felt a sense of completion – a perfect ending to a perfect journey.
What sets Sal apart is not just his professionalism or his extensive knowledge of Switzerland’s landscapes – it’s his ability to turn a trip into a deeply personal journey. Every sight, every moment was curated with care, every stop was chosen with intention. His guidance was not just practical but poetic, showing us where to stand to capture the perfect photo, or where to pause and simply breathe in the beauty around us.
Sal made us feel like we were not just visitors but participants in the grand story of Switzerland. For anyone seeking not just to see Switzerland but to experience it with their whole heart, Sal is the guide who will take you there.
A journey with Sal is more than a tour – it’s a memory that will stay with you forever. - 21/10/24

Rain or Shine, Sal's Got Your Back! We had the pleasure of touring with Sal from Swiss Private Tours. Despite Mother Nature throwing a tantrum with rain both days and Zurich deciding to host a cycling race just to keep things interesting, Sal made our trip unforgettable. We booked two tours: Liechtenstein and Mount Titlis. Sal's knowledge of history and culture is like a Swiss army knife—endlessly useful and always surprising. He's friendly, personable, and has a knack for reading the room (or in this case, the tour group). Need a quick detour to avoid a downpour? Sal's got you. Want to know the best spot for a photo op? Sal's your guy. Our Liechtenstein tour transformed into a visit to Lucerne, where we explored amazing historical sites and churches. The second tour morphed into an adventure through the charming villages of Colmar and Eguisheim. Sal's flexibility and adaptability were put to the test with the weather and road closures, but he handled it all like a pro. We felt completely at ease and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. If you're looking for a guide who can turn a rainy day into a grand adventure, Sal is your man. Highly recommend! --- Hope this captures the spirit of your experience! - 17/10/24
