Zurich to Alsace, France
Your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby at around 09:30 AM. Following a short meet greet session, we shall begin our journey towards France. Taking the scenic journey we shall reach Colmar at around 11 AM. Alsace is a region that’s big in diversity and variety, and it’s amazing, when it comes to exceptional holiday experience!
Colmar offers you an exciting glimpse of 1000 years of European history. Stroll through Colmar’s vast pedestrianized zone, a listed “protected sector”, enjoy its rich perfectly preserved religious and secular heritage, taking you from the middle ages to the 18th century: from “Little Venice” which has become the “must” venue for photographers from the world over, to the Tanners district recognizable by its grand white-fronted houses. Following our sightseeing tour of Colmar and and perhaps a gondola ride through the “little Venice (subject to availability), it’s best to enjoy your relaxing lunch. Thereafter, we will start our journey to visit another wine producing village and immaculately cute – Eguisheim.
You will fall in love instantly with Eguisheim as you will stroll through narrow concentric lanes and admire the medieval architectural merits of its half-timbered, beautiful colored houses decorated with flowers. Follow your to visit the most beautiful alleys and places including the Leon Beyer, Castle of Counts Eguisheim, Chateau du Hohlandsbourg, Maison Wolfberger, Chateau Saint Leon, Saint-Leon Fountain, Eglise Saints-Pierre-et-Paul, Hubert et Heidi Hausherr, all that will surely steal your breath away. After a spectacular picture taking sessions in this beautiful village, we shall leave Eguishiem for Basel.
Upon returning back to Switzerland from France, we will reach Basel, a city on the Rhine River in northwest Switzerland, borders with France and Germany. Its medieval old town centres on Marktplatz, dominated by the 16th-century, red-sandstone Town Hall. Basel will be an ideal place to also enjoy a relaxing dinner before returning to Zurich, arriving at your hotel at around 8:30 PM
The tour is scheduled to start from the door-step of your hotel in Zurich at 09:30 AM and expected to end at around 8:30 PM. The duration is approximately 11 hours but this includes 30 minutes coffee breaks, 1 hour of Lunch and an hour and a half for dinner break.
